About the Author

John M. Rector, Ph.D., is a counseling psychologist licensed in multiple states, a certified school psychologist in two states, as well as an experienced university professor. He has taught psychology courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. In addition to writing Objectification Spectrum, Dr. Rector has authored numerous articles highlighting the interface between psychology and religion. Dr. Rector has served as chairperson for the American Psychological Association's Annual Convention for Division 36 (Psychology of Religion). He is currently serving as a peer review editor for Oxford University Press, the Journal of Religion & Spirituality in Society, and is an assistant editor for the journal Issues in Religion and Psychotherapy. He and his wife are the parents of three sons.
